All Are Welcome at Beth Sholom

All Are Welcome at Congregation Beth Sholom

Beth Sholom welcomes all people -- those who are single, married, same-sex couples, heterosexual couples, those in mixed-faith relationships, families with or without children -- seeking to be part of an active and vibrant Jewish community. Our vision is one of many generations finding their religious and spiritual paths together, enriching and enjoying each other.

Inclusive: All physical areas of our building are accessible to individuals with disabilities. Moreover, we strive to create a culture of inclusion so that everyone can fully participate in synagogue life.

Family-Friendly: Children are welcome at all religious services, and post-bar/bat mitzvah teenagers are encouraged to participate by leading services, reading Torah and haftarah. There are age-appropriate Shabbat services for all age groups and family programming together with our USY and Kadima groups.

Multi-Generational: Everyone from toddlers to nonagenarians finds their place at Beth Sholom, both with their peers and when we come together as a community.

Mixed-Faith Families: We welcome mixed-faith couples and families wishing to nourish their Jewish family identity. Worship with us. Celebrate Shabbat and holidays with us. Give your kids enriching Jewish experiences with us.

LGBTQ Affirming: We welcome LGBTQ congregants and families and extend them an invitation to participate fully in our community, celebrating all life cycle events joyously. We are committed to creating a safe physical and emotional environment for all, regardless of sexual orientation or identity.

Multi-Racial: We are a welcoming space for Jews of all racial identities and ethnic backgrounds, including those who have been historically and institutionally marginalized. We embrace Jews of Color, Sephardic Jews, Mizrachi Jews, and all Jews who wish to join the Beth Sholom community.

Allergy Awareness: Our facilities are allergy sensitive and children’s programming makes every effort possible to accommodate children with food allergies. We do ask that visitors refrain from wearing perfume, aftershave and other strong scents in consideration of those who are sensitive to them.

We look forward to speaking with you about Beth Sholom and answering any questions you might have.
