Interested in visiting Congregation Beth Sholom? We’d love to meet you!
Services
Our services are egalitarian and consist of traditional Hebrew liturgy, full Torah and Haftarah readings on Shabbat morning and a d’var Torah message from the rabbi. See service times here. Cellphones and cameras are not used in the synagogue on Shabbat.
Getting Here
Some people walk to services on Shabbat while others drive. The parking lot on Maitland Avenue has limited space and there are spots on nearby streets. Here is a link to our location on Google maps.
Home Hospitality
We’d be happy to arrange home hospitality over Shabbat or arrange for you to join a family for a meal. If you are interested in being hosted, please contact cbsmembership@cbsteaneck.org.
For Children
Check out our a cappella choir for children in grades 1-6. Tzipporei Shalom meets most Shabbat mornings 10:00-10:30 AM on the lower level.
We host a range of Shabbat morning services and activity groups for children of all ages (toddler through middle school), 10:30-11:30 AM on the lower level. Click here for details.
Kiddush
Kiddush immediately follows Shabbat morning services. Join us to “nosh” (eat) and “schmooze” (meet and talk).
Dress As You Wish
Some people wear suits, ties, and skirts, while others dress more casually. Dress in whatever makes you feel comfortable. Men are required to wear a kippah in our service, both men and women are given the option of wearing a tallit, and women are given the option of wearing a kippah.
