Shabbat morning

Our building is bustling on Shabbat mornings, with one or two adult services and four children's services, all followed by a large congregational kiddush.

Both adult services are egalitarian and include the complete traditional Shabbat morning liturgy, a full Torah and Haftarah reading, and a brief d’var Torah (commentary on the Torah portion).

Community Services (beginning at 9:00 AM)

  • The Sanctuary service is held weekly and conducted by Rabbi Joel Pitkowsky together with a rotation of lay and professional sh'lichei tzibbur (prayer leaders).
  • Minyan Koleinu, usually held on the second and fourth Shabbat of each month, is a spirited and melody-infused service modeled after New York's Kehillat Hadar and is completely lay-led, with divrei Torah delivered by congregants. Koleinu services will take place in 2019-20 on: Sept. 14, Oct. 15, Oct. 26, Nov. 9, Nov. 23, Dec. 14, Jan. 4, Jan. 18, Feb. 1, Feb. 22, Mar. 14, Mar. 28, Apr. 4, Apr. 25, May 9, May 23, Jun. 13.
