Shabbat morning

Our building is bustling on Shabbat mornings, with one or two adult services and four children's services, all followed by a large congregational kiddush.

Both adult services are egalitarian and include the complete traditional Shabbat morning liturgy, a full Torah and Haftarah reading, and a brief d’var Torah (commentary on the Torah portion).

Community Services (beginning at 9:00 AM)

  • The Sanctuary service is held weekly and conducted by Rabbi Joel Pitkowsky together with a rotation of lay and professional sh'lichei tzibbur (prayer leaders).
  • Minyan Koleinu, usually held on the second and fourth Shabbat of each month, is a spirited and melody-infused service modeled after New York's Kehillat Hadar and is completely lay-led, with divrei Torah delivered by congregants.

Children's Services (beginning at 10:30 AM)

  • Minyan Katan:  Birth - pre-K
  • Minyan Gesher:  Kindergarten-2nd grade children
  • Minyan Sha’ar:  3rd-5th grade children
  • Sababa:  6th-8th grade children -   begins at 11 AM unless there is a bar or bat mitzvah.
