Part- Time Teen Engagement Coordinator

Congregation Beth Sholom, located in Teaneck NJ is seeking a charismatic and talented young
professional to inspire the next generation of Jewish leadership. Candidate will engage teens in grades 9-12 and grades 6-8 in our teen programming. This is a part-time position reporting to the Director of Engagement. Graduate students welcome to apply!

You will be responsible for supervising and mentoring the teen leaders by:
● Creating an exciting calendar of cultural, religious, social action and social programs
● Maintaining program budgets

Preferred qualities include:
● Talent for building relationships with teens while maintaining appropriate boundaries
● Ability to motivate and support the teens in taking on leadership roles
● Positive, Jewish role-modeling
● Comfort speaking to large groups of kids/teens and engaging them one-on-one
● Knowledge of and commitment to Judaism
● Successful track record of planning and running programs
● Initiative, organization and communication skills

Requirements include:
● Availability during teen programming (including nights and weekends)
● Presence in the synagogue on at least 1 Shabbat per month and some holidays

Your background will ideally include:
● Experience working with tweens and teens in formal or informal settings
● Experience in Jewish camping, religious schools, synagogues, or equivalent
● Undergraduate degree preferred but not required

We offer:
● Salary Range $15-20K
● Robust budget for programming
● Part-time position with flexible scheduling - roughly 10 - 15 hours per week

to informal Jewish education

Congregation Beth Sholom (CBS) in Teaneck, NJ is a unique community with a highly engaged
multi-generational congregation. Weekly Shabbat services draw upwards of 300 people for spirited,
participatory, egalitarian davening.
