Hazak
Hazak
Members of Congregation Beth Sholom 55+ are welcome to join our Hazak group, a program of United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism designed to address the needs of active seniors.
An acronym, Hazak can be read as ziknah (maturity) and kadima (looking ahead). At Beth Sholom, Hazak provides an outlet for people with years of experience to meaningfully incorporate that experience into work for the synagogue as well as to find opportunities for personal growth and enrichment.
Hazak is a strong supporter of the Jewish Federation’s Food Bank. In addition to regular trips to museums and other local points of interest, this very active group hosts bi-weekly “Tuesday Schmoozedays” featuring different topics of interest. Just a sprinkling of topics and speakers this year:
- Rabbi Bruce Dickstein, Esq. on Compromise in Jewish Law and Life
- Naama Manahan on The Yemenite Jews and their Culture
For more information please contact hazak@cbsteaneck.org or call the office.
