Are you interested in learning more about your family’s history prior to their arrival in the U.S. or about a branch of your family that never emigrated to the U.S.? In this interactive online presentation, one of the Center for Jewish History’s genealogy librarians will show you how to broaden your family history search beyond the basic databases to specific online resources for places of origin worldwide. In addition, they will share tips for finding and requesting records from your country of origin that are not available online. While this is designed as a follow-up to our genealogy basics session, first-time participants are welcome.

Preserving your Family Photos and Documents

While it may seem like a daunting process, it’s not insurmountable if you tackle it step by step. In an interactive online presentation, one of the Center for Jewish History’s reference services librarians will explain how you can organize, digitize, and safely store your family photos and documents through manageable, affordable steps. Then, we’ll answer your questions about your specific preservation needs and challenges.
