Our Programming - Overview
Adult Education
Explore Jewish tradition, history, thought, and culture with the Adult Education Committee. Participate in the book club, annual Beth Sholom Shabbaton, Scholar-in-Residence Shabbat, Community Beit Midrash, and other educational programs.
Ayin l'Tzion
Zionism and a love of Israel are at the heart of Beth Sholom throughout the year. The Ayn L’Tzion Committee oversees our ongoing programming, which includes Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut commemorations, our annual Israeli Film Festival, classes on Zionism and Israeli culture, the Hug Ivri Hebrew Club, and an Israeli Book Group.
Children's Programming
From holiday celebrations and Havdallah movie nights to Parent-Child Learning and Sunday Sing-Alongs, the Children's Programming Committee nurtures connection, learning, and fun for our youngest members and their families.
Community
Strengthening connections through meaningful programs for all ages. Enjoy Rotating Havurah, Shabbat Dinner Club, Cooking Club, Kesher College Conections, and other events and programs that bring people together and strengthen our community.
Hazak
Hazak is the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism’s program for people aged 55+. The Beth Sholom Hazak holds a monthly Tuesday Schmoozeday focusing on different topics, has regular activities and lectures on a variety of topics, and organizes trips to places of interest in the metropolitan area.
Hesed
By performing acts of loving kindness in times of need and supporting community members during life-cycle events, the Hesed Committee ensures that we are there for each other.
Mind/Body
Congregation Beth Sholom hosts several wellness programs for members and families, including Sisterhood’s yoga and Pilates classes and the congregation’s running club for all ages.
Ruach
The Ruach Committee works to create festive and celebratory dinners and holiday events for the whole community.
Sisterhood
Affiliated with Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, Beth Sholom’s Sisterhood provides opportunities for women to interact, network and socialize. Sisterhood also raises funds for the congregation’s benefit throughout the year.
Tzedek Tirdof Committee
The Tzedek Tirdof Committee addresses contemporary social concerns from a Jewish perspective by fostering dialogue, education, outreach to the larger community, and active engagement with local, national and global issues. The committee also volunteers at an area soup kitchen and collects food and clothing for charitable donation.
