Welcoming Project Ezra, of the Lower East Side, to CBS

In our Congregation Beth Sholom community, we place high value on community service and engaging in hesed -- acts of loving-kindness -- to bring comfort to those in need, and to enrich the world around us.

On Sunday, April 22nd, we have an opportunity to connect and socialize with seniors from New York's Lower East Side who will be joining us from Project Ezra. The seniors who join us each year look forward to their visit -- and to Rose Konigsberg's delicious vegetable soup -- and enjoy seeing so many smiling faces. We look forward to hearing stories of life in the Lower East Side, and providing a welcome to our guests. Lunch, entertainment, and kinship!

In fact, we want to see YOUR smiling face on Sunday, April 22nd.

We gather together at 11 am and set the tables in the social hall. As our guests arrive, we welcome them to our CBS home. As everyone is seated, we get ready to serve lunch. It is a great afternoon, and if you have never been a part of the Project Ezra luncheon, we hope this year will see you with us.

We ask volunteers to contribute $18 per person (max $36 per family) and any additional contributions to help underwrite the cost of the meal we share with our guests. CBS members of all ages are invited to be a part of this wonderful afternoon.
