We will read and discuss letters and correspondence written by Jews from different eras and places. Through this exploration we will learn about their personal concerns, fears and hopes and also gain an insight into the intellectual questions that captured the Jewish imagination over time. Some of the areas we will explore are correspondence between earliest Jewish colonists in the Americas, correspondence with the U.S. Presidents, letters from early settlers in Palestine, an intellectual exchange between Gandhi and Buber and others.
If you are unable to attend in person, a Zoom link is available, however this is primarily an "in-person" program and the Zoom will not be part of the interactive discussion.
