Parallel Minyan: Meets the 1st and 3rd Shabbat of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Beit HaMidrash, with Torah discussion and coffee and tea at 9 a.m. in the Library. Meets this Shabbat.
Minyan Koleinu: Meets the 2nd and 4th Shabbat of each month at 9:15 a.m. in the Curtis Hereld Room. Meets next Shabbat.
Parshat Ha’Shavuah: Meets at 8:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Rabbi Lawrence Troster will lead the Torah discussion.

- Sunday: Adult Education Class with Rabbi Michael Chernick at 9:45 a.m. in the Library, focusing on prayers for special days on the Jewish calendar.
- Sunday: Artists’ Beit Midrash: Tackling Job: A Learning Circle, taught by Harriet Finck. Spring semester begins Feb. 26.
- Monday: Pilates at 7:15 p.m. with Hedy Weisbart in the Curtis Hereld Room.
- Monday: Adult Education Class with Arthur Konigsberg at 8:15 p.m. in the Family Conference Room
- Tuesday: Adult Education Class with Rabbi Joel Pitkowsky at 9:45 a.m. in the Curtis Hereld Room, looking at Rabbinic Answers for the Modern Age

- Sun 2/5: Tu B’Shevat at the Rockleigh. Join in a celebration of planting with the residents of Rockleigh at 10 Link Drive, Rockleigh. All parents and kids are welcome. Meet at the CBS parking lot at 10:30 a.m. Contact Ingrid Goldfein or Ilana Picker at tikkunkids@gmail.com.
- Mon 2/6: Hazak Board Meeting at 7 p.m. in the Library
- Tues 2/7: Hazak Schmoozeday at 11 p.m. in the Curtis Hereld Room, featuring speaker Abe Kempler on The American Jewish Experience in the Movies.
- Tues 2/7: Tu B’Shevat Seder, sponsored by the Ayin L’tzion Committee at 8:15 p.m. in the Shulman Auditorium. No charge for the program but reservations required; though the deadline has passed, you can reseve a seat by contacting the synagogue office on Sunday, February 5.
- Sun 2/12: Project Ezra Luncheon at 11 a.m. in the Shulman Auditorium. Make your reservation with the synagogue office by Tuesday, Feb. 7.
- Mon 2/13: Kesher Career Network at 7:30 p.m. in the Curtis Hereld Room
- Wed 2/15: Ritual Committee Meeting at 8:15 p.m. in the Library
- Sat 2/18: Israeli Movie Night, presented by the Ayin L’tzion Committee, featuring For My Father (Sof Shavua b’Tel Aviv), a movie that explores the impact of relationships on terror and terror on relationships. $5 admission per person.
Community Information
Dr. Gershon Baskin, founder and chairman of the Israel Palestine Center for Research and Information will speak on Monday, February 6 at 8 p.m. at the Kaplan JCC on the Palisades about “Bringing Gilad Shalit Home: The Secret Negotiations for his Freedom.” The program is co-sponsored by Congregation Beth Sholom, the JCRC of the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey and many community synagogues.
As part of the 60th Anniversary Festivities, there will be a reprise of the Beth Sholom Breakfast on Sunday, March 18. If you are interested in participating in the morning’s entertainment, contact Sam Menahem at smenahem@aol.com.

One Book One Community is an initiative of the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey to engage the entire community in a collaborative venture: reading a common book, My Father’s Paradise by Ariel Sabar, and participating in programs around its central theme. A community program, featuring Ariel Sabar and his father, will take place at the end of March. Books are available for purchase ($8 each) through the synagogue office.
