We are still looking for additional new leaders to take on the coordination for our ongoing committee work. It is important that this committee incorporate new members and leaders as it continues to serve those in need within our Jewish community and those deserving people who are outside our community.
So if you have a strong commitment to social action and repairing the world a little bit at a time, if you care about the hungry, the sick, the politically and economically oppressed, if you care about the planet and its survival, please consider sharing the leadership of the Social Action/Tikkun Olam Committee at Congregation Beth Sholom.
Please contact us to volunteer:

Current Actions
Mitzvah Day 2008: The Annual UJA Mitzvah Day will be held on November 2nd. This year Congregation Beth Sholom will be participating as a collection site for a baby clothing drive for Israel through an organization called Yad Leah. The clothing has to be sized infant–4T and in excellent or very good condition. All that we collect will be delivered to Yad Leah on Mitzvah Day. In addition to this project, we hope that you will all volunteer to serve at the many other sites participating on November 2.
Children’s Coat Drive: We will be collecting new and mint condition winter coats for needy children from November 2nd through November 16th. Please bring your donations to the bin placed in the lobby.
Chanukah Toy Drive: coming soon. Please look for flyers for more information.
