TAVIM (Hebrew for musical notes) is the Jewish a-cappella group of Congregation Beth Sholom, Teaneck, NJ.

TAVIM was founded in 1993 by members of the congregation who love to sing, and enjoy creating and presenting Jewish music.  Since that time, TAVIM has been entertaining audiences at public events, synagogue programs, family affairs and private gatherings.

Our eclectic repertoire includes woks with traditional, modern, pop, and gospel flavors, sung in Hebrew, English, Yiddish, and Ladino.  Most of the arrangements are the work of our musical director, Uri Sobel, with the help of other members of the group.

Our first recording, Ahhh… Cappella, was completed in 1997.  Our second, Darkenu – Rugby Road, in 2002.

In addition to producing CDs and audio cassettes, TAVIM performs at:

  • Brit & Simchat Bat Ceremonies
  • Bar & Bat Mitzvah Events
  • Weddings & Sheva Brachot
  • Birthday & Anniversary Parties
  • Shabbatonim
  • Community Events

All proceeds from our performances and sales benefit the Congregation.

TAVIM is grateful for the devoted support and enthusiastic encouragement of the members of Congregation Beth Sholom.

For information about performances or sales, contact Congregation Beth Sholom, (201) 833 – 2620; office@cbsteaneck.org.
