Congregation Beth Sholom operates with the support of dedicated members who volunteer their time, talent, and abilities to serve on committees that help with the overall operation of the synagogue. Our committees include:
Ad Journal – Fundraising vehicle for annual Gala.
Adult Education – Classes, scholars-in-residence, the Shabbaton and more.
Ayin L’tzion: Educational, social, fundraising, and advocacy programs to support Israel and strengthen our ties.
Bar/Bat Mitzvah: Helping families navigate the big event.
Building Utilization – Coordinating the many uses of our plant.
Bulletin – Producing the Beth Sholom newsletter.
Cemetery – Purchasing plots and making them available to members.
Children’s Programming – Shabbat and holiday services, and other programming for kids.
Constitution – Considering amendments to our basic document.
Decoration – Beautifying our physical space.
Endowment and Investments – Safeguarding and growing our investments.
Environment – Working on issues related to energy efficiency, recycling, etc.
Finance and Budget – Forecasting and tracking our income and expenses.
Fundraising – Creating opportunities for charitable giving to Beth Sholom.
Gala – Planning and running Beth Sholom’s biggest annual party.
Hazak – An active, social group for members age 55 and older.
Hesed: Outreach to congregants in times of need.

Honorees – Selecting folks to spotlight at our annual Gala.
House and Grounds – Maintaining our building and property.
Information Technology – Computers, networks and more.
Kiddush – The most important meal of the day.
Library – Stewarding and expanding our collection.
Membership – Attracting and retaining members.
Men’s Club – An opportunity for men to serve the synagogue and the community through social and social action programs.
Mishloach Manot: Our Purim fundraiser.
Nominating – Proposing the new slate of officers and trustees.
Personnel – Interacting with our employees.
Public Relations – Publicizing our events.
Rabbi Liaison – Fostering good communication with the rabbi.
Religious School – Oversight of our supplemental Hebrew school for children in Kindergarten through Seventh Grade.
Ritual – Working with the rabbi to assure that services run smoothly, and a forum to consider new directions in our liturgy.
Ruach: Fostering a sense of community, and just having fun.
Russian Club – Provides social and educational activities for recent immigrants from the former Soviet Union.
Scholarship – Awarding scholarship funds.
Sisterhood – A dynamic group of women of all ages who bond together to support our congregation in many ways.
Strategic Planning – Figuring out where we want to be in five years, and what we need to do to get there.
Tikkun Olam: Social action. Housing the homeless, clothing the naked, feeding the hungry in our community, and more.
